The 12 styles
The OCI measures culture across 12 behavioural styles, organised into three clusters and displayed on the Human Synergistics Circumplex.
Constructive styles
Achievement, self-actualising, humanistic-encouraging, and affiliative behaviours that energise people and drive performance.
Passive / Defensive styles
Approval, conventional, dependent, and avoidance behaviours that lead members to protect their own security at the expense of the task.
Aggressive / Defensive styles
Oppositional, power, competitive, and perfectionistic behaviours that lead members to focus on their own status rather than shared goals.
