
Group Styles Inventory (GSI)
The Group Styles Inventory™ (GSI) from Human Synergistics measures how the members of a group interact with one another when solving problems and making decisions. It captures the group's interaction styles in the moment, so a team can see how its own behaviour affects its effectiveness.
How It Works
Following a group problem-solving task, members assess the way the group worked together. The results map onto the same 12 styles as the Human Synergistics Circumplex, grouped into three clusters:
- Constructive styles — that promote effective, synergistic teamwork
- Passive/Defensive styles — that lead members to subordinate their own thinking
- Aggressive/Defensive styles — that turn problem-solving into a contest
